A Passion for Language and Technology
I am an MSc Computer Science candidate with strong expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP), multilingual AI, and low-resource language technologies. My research focuses on developing inclusive AI systems that address challenges such as sentiment analysis, fake news detection, hope speech classification, and emotion-cause extraction, particularly for underrepresented languages. I have actively participated in international collaborations and shared tasks at venues including EACL, ACL, NAACL, COLING, IberLEF, LT-EDI, and RANLP, where I have contributed as both an author of peer-reviewed publications and a presenter at leading NLP conferences. Alongside my academic journey, I bring hands-on experience in machine learning, data engineering, IT, and networking, which strengthens my ability to connect theoretical research with practical applications. I am deeply passionate about advancing inclusive and impactful AI and contribute to the global research community as a member of ACL, Black in AI, and EthioNLP.
